Getting Around Taniti
Air Travel

handling small jets and propeller planes. Plans are underway to expand the airport so that
larger jets will be able to land in the coming years, improving accessibility for
international travelers.
Cruise Ship
For a unique arrival experience, a small cruise ship docks in Yellow Leaf Bay one night per
week, giving visitors a scenic entry and a short stay on the island.
Public Transportation
City Buses: Public buses operate throughout Taniti City daily from 5 a.m.
to 11 p.m.,
providing
convenient access to major streets, attractions, and accommodations.
Private Buses: Private bus services connect Taniti City to other parts
of the island, making it
easy to explore remote areas and sightseeing destinations.
Taxis
Taxis are readily available within Taniti City, offering flexible and direct transportation
to
your hotel, restaurants, or entertainment venues.
Rental Cars
Visitors can rent cars from a local agency near the airport. Rental vehicles provide freedom
for
exploring the island at your own pace, including more remote beaches, villages, and natural
attractions.
Bike Rentals
Bikes and helmets are available from several vendors across the island.
Helmets are required by
law, ensuring safety as visitors ride through Taniti City or Merriton Landing.
Walking
Taniti City is flat, compact, and very walkable. Many tourists choose
accommodations near
Merriton Landing, where shops, restaurants, and entertainment options are all within easy
walking distance. Exploring the city on foot is both convenient and enjoyable, allowing you
to soak in the island's vibrant atmosphere.
